The Italians are a civilization featured in Age of Empires II: The Forgotten. They are based on medieval states in modern day Italy, such as Venice, Genoa, Florence and the Papal States.

OverviewEdit

Italians are a water booming civilization. Due to their bonuses they have a very good economy and is mainly a booming and naval civilization. Their unique archer unit, the Genoese Crossbowman, is a versatile unit that is trained at the Castle. They are archers with a bonus against cavalry, making them powerful against cavalry based civilizations like the Franks and Persians. Their first Unique Technology, Pavise, makes their Genoese Crossbowman more durable and effective. Their second unique unit, the Condottiero, is an infantry unit with a bonus against gunpowder units and is trained in the Barracks. This unit is also their team bonus, which means that the Condottiero will be available for all their allies at the Barracks once they are in the Imperial Age and have a Castle standing. Their second unique technology makes their trade units 50% cheaper.

Unique Unit: Genoese Crossbowman (Archer with bonus against cavalry), Condottiero (Infantry with bonus against gunpowder units)

Unique Tech: Pavise (Genoese Crossbowmen +1/+1 armor), Silk Road (Trade units 50% cheaper).

  • Fishing ship LOS +2
  • Gunpowder units cost -15%
  • Team Bonus: Condottiero also available in allies' barracks in the Imperial Age (once a castle is built).
